I've mentioned this in other threads, but one of the thing that exact search should always do is that it should support robust wildcard searches. The current implementation of wildcard searches is vastly better than it used to be, but still not as strong is I might hope it would be.

But for now, I would settle just for it working as advertized. Nearly every day now, it doesn't work as advertized. For example, I just now searched for first name franc* last name robbins, any event in Clinton, Anderson County, Tennessee - and I got the dread error message about "Too many matches with the wildcard search: franc* robbins". I'm well within the published rules for wildcards. And the problems with valid wildcard searches not working seem to be getting worse. Has something changed?
