Surnames: Steven, Thomson
I am looking for any information on John Steven, my gr-gr-grandfather. On 26 Jun 1885 he was married to Mary-Maggie Thomson in Holywood, Scotland. My gr-grandfather, Hugh Murdoch Steven was born in Nov 1885. I know that John and Mary also had a daughter.
According to family legend, sometime after 1885 John Steven moved to Africa and was working as an engineer. After 7 years of separation from Mary, John re-married a Dutch woman and went on to have more children. I have been told that I have relatives in Africa and Australia.
If anyone has any information that could help me I would greatly appreciate it, I have been stuck on this wall for a long time!
