There is a roll of emigrants to Liberia and an 1843 Liberian census -- both can be found online and are very helpful. Also, find a copy of Bell Wiley's book, Slaves No More, which has a lot of letters from freed slaves back to America.

Now my request for help: I'm looking for information on people with the last name Major (Majors, Mager, Magor, etc.) and Harland (Harlan). They arrived in Bassa Cove aboard the Luna in 1836. About half the party of 15 was dead by 1851 (not atypical). If anyone knows of descendants of either family or information or resources, please let me know. Thank you.
