I saw your post and it made me very curious. My great-great grandmother was Mary Fountain, (her married name)
and she was from Madagascar. From there her family moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland - I believe. She
married Mr. Fountain (will have to find out his name), who came from Virginia. She was born a freed slave and
died at the age of 101 in 1949. My great-grandfather (her son Edward) was born in 1898, was a WWI vet and a
traveling musician (piano player). He lived in Harrisburg, PA and married a lady by the last name of Booker.
They had no children of their own, but he loved and raised her children as his own. He died in 1992 at the age
of 95, and was good with the passing down of family history/information.
I have lots of family somewhere in VA that I've never met, though my late uncle Reese used to attend the reunions that were
held there years ago. His late brother Chester (my mother's father) left Harrisburg, PA (where my great-grandfather was from,
where I am from and most of my relatives are from)in 1952
in the north) lived in West Baltimore until his death in 1991. There are a lot of breaks in my story, because I don't have
alot of time to go through all that I remember, but if this at all sounds familiar to you, give me shout.
Hope we can help each other out.
