My great aunt Mary Ann Bell (sometimes known as Dolly) went to Cape Town on the ship Guelph in September 1907. She was aged 27 at the time and single. By the middle of the first world war she "had disappeared in mysterious circumstances" this is all I know about her.
Can anyone help me with finding any info about her, why would a 27 year old domestic servant travel on her own all the way to Cape Town and what sort of circumstances could arrive when she or anyone else would not be able to contact her parents.
