Hi,

I'm looking for relations and further details for my great-grandfather, Charles Henry Samuel Smith. He was born on 18 March 1885 in Madras. His father, Charles Henry Smith, served in the military in Madras, died abt 1885. His mother was Rebecca Tristram, born 1857 in Madras. It is believed he had 5 older brothers.

I only have details of his brother, Hedley Henry Vicars Smith, born in Madras in 1884 and died in England shortly after being discharged from WWI service in 1916. It is believed that two of his older brothers went to live in the US, returning to the UK to serve in WWI, and were killed in action.

In relation to Rebecca Tristram, her parents were William Tristram and Elizabeth (I believe her surname was Thrussell). Siblings believed to be Sarah Isabella(born 1846), William (born 1853), Esther Rosetta (born 1867) and Arthur Edwin (born 1870). Rebecca remarried after Charles death in 1885. Believed to have married Ernest Draper in Madras in 1890. Believed to have died in Ladysmith, South Africa in 1901.

Any help is most appreciated.
Regards
Mai
