I have an ancestor that is proving very difficult to trace. I have his birth in Shanghai 1884. UK Census 1891 and 1901 (age 17). His death in England 1979.
I have just found on LDS Family Search, that he was in India in 1911 and had a daughter who died within her year of birth. The record is for his daughter, he is just listed as the father. I cannot find any marriage records in UK, so I have no idea who his wife was.
I don't know if he was just passing through or working in India.
Does anyone know if there is any way to access Indian records at this time.
