Eric,

I found a few children born to a Delores Bernabe (her maiden name) between 1912 and 1927, husband was Victor Buenaventura. I've included this list as well as the birth certificates to their first two children. They place Delores' birth around 1887 or 1888-- hopefully this is the right person you're looking for.

If you've come across the 1930 census record referring to Carlos S. Bernabe, I just want to clarify that the transcription was wrong-- looks like he and his family were from Bocaue, Bulacan, Philippines.

One of these microfilms may be useful if you're really serious about tracking down their family:

Assuming he was born around 1882 and she was born around 1887-8, I'd recommend "Bautismos 1876-1892"-- quite often children were baptized just days after birth and there's a chance their baptismal record may not only mention their parents, but possibly grandparents as well. Obviously the catch is that you'd have to order them ($7.50) and read them in a local Mormon church (the public is welcome), plus they're in Spanish. Definitely recommended though.
