I have just noticed your message on Ancestry and am very interested in the names you mention. I am doing some research at the moment on a joseph Marsh from Netherbury and he did indeed have a son named Henry Charles Frederick Marsh in 1865. Unfortunately I believed that Henry Charles died probably by 1871. I could well be wrong. I would be very interested in knowing what informtion you have on your Charles Henry to see if I can find any connection. Are you aware of any siblings he had, for instance? Do you know if he was bsorn in the Channel Islands?
I am particularly interested because I have confirmation that my family line are an exact dna match for the line of Joseph Marsh 1824. Have you a Marsh male that would be interested in doing a Marsh dna test. If more folks had it we may come nearer to finding our kith and kin. Go on the website for the Marshdnaproject: www.kin.marshdna.com
You may well find it very interesting as a John Marsh from New Zealand is comprising an index of all the Marsh dna that is sent to him or done through the project. This is where my exact match was confirmed after my family and another chap - unknown to me - were tested. The tests are done by Family Tree dna and often there are sales when the testing is much cheaper.
This is not a sales pitch as it honestly what got me much further in my own Marsh History that I found originates in Dorset. Previous to that I believed thaty had always cocme from the Midlands.
I look forward to hearing from you Kathleen.
