Anne - As a gateway you could look at http://www.avoncliffe.com/genealogy/jersey/ci-index.htm

There is also the CI mailing list here at Rootsweb - look at the bottom of the above page

Hi Anne

The Channel Islands census is available on Ancestry if you look through the list of all available censuses. Unfortunatly Births, Marriages and Deaths are not online. All the information is stored at local Archive and library. Some are recorded on www.familysearch.org but is hit and miss.

What family names are you researching? I live in Jersey and have relatives in Canada so was wondering if there is any link?

I have to say I am not entirely sure! I know some moved there but sure where though I would not be surprised if it was Newfoundland as I know quite a few Jersey people went there. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to look at it much. I am a Queree...there are no Le Hucquet's in my tree I'm afraid!
