Fantastic ~ Thank You David. Yes after posting my message, I sat down with a magnifying glass and looked again at the census record and decided it might be Female Student -incorrectly as it turned out (it seemed unlikely, as my relative Sarah JONES was 40 years old). She was employed by what looks like Alan Chatfield? Vicar - Census Page Reference: HO.107/3/15 - Stotfold, Bedfordshire. Apart from the 6 Pupils listed, the last person in the household who is male is listed as M.S., which shows you are correct and EVERY occupation on the form has a tick in front of it, as you say a checkers mark. I tried to Google this query but got no answer, so thank you again for your expert knowledge. PETER.
