Hello all,

I'm looking for information on a Raymond Pinkstone. He is not a relative of mine, but rather he and my grandfather were friends and escaped a POW camp together.

My grandfather died before I was born but my Dad says that he escaped Stalag XX-B in Malbork/Marienburg while on a Death March back to Germany with Raymond Pinkstone. The two were separated and my Granddad never saw 'Pinky' again. Also, Pinky was from a southern regiment. This is the info I have on him from the prisoner of war database:

First Name(s):R.
Last Name:Pinkstone
Rank:Rifleman
Camp No.:20B
PoW No.:8710
Soldier No.:6913966
Record Office:Rifle Corps Record Office, WinchesterCamp Type:STALAGCamp
Location:Marienburg
Regiment:The Rifle Brigade

The only Raymond Pinkstone I can find that might be around the age that would have gone to war is born in 1921 Brentford Buckinghamshire. We don't know if he ever made it back to England but if anyone knows of this man, I would be very happy to hear about him, as would my Dad.

Thanks in advance
