Black Country Connections (http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/) is indeed a team effort with a lot of people adding information - that is the whole point of it really.

Naturally this can lead to errors but we have a clear policy on this matter. If anyone disagrees with some of the information on the site then they are welcome to contact the administrators and we will look into the matter.

Usually what we do is throw the topic open for discussion on http://www.genealogyforum.co.uk/forum/ and/or check the original data at the archives.

It works a little like Wikipedia - we rely on people pointing out the mistakes so they can be fixed but do not see our site as 100% reliable. The up-side of having so many contributors is that although there may be more errors entered there are also more people to spot them :-)

Occasionally there may be cases where there are two interpretations based on the same inconclusive data. When that happens we tend to let the first post stand and add a note pointing out the second possibility.

So, if you have spotted any mistakes please let us know so that we can look into them. We now have over 16000 entries on the site and I would them all to be correct if possible.

Kate (one of the administrators of Black Country Connections)
