Hello, I don't have any information about William and Mary Goodwin unfortunately, although I believe her maiden name may have been Austin. Your relative Maria Goodwin was the younger sister of my great great grandmother, Sarah Goodwin (b.1823/4). She, and several of the older siblings, had already left home by the time of the 1841 census. Sarah married John Crow, a farm labourer, also from Whittlesey. Their son John James Crow joined the army and served in India etc and eventually became a Chelsea Pensioner. He brought up his 12 children on his former colonel's estate in Ireland where he became gamekeeper. One of the sons won the VC in WW1 - Capt John James Crowe (you can google him!) Interesting to hear that Maria went to the US - what a change that must have been from sleepy Cambridgeshire.
