Patricia Mary Gilmore of Rail Road Flat died Thursday, Dec. 27, (2012) at her home. She was 82.
Mrs. Gilmore was born Aug. 31, 1930, in Birkenhead, England, to Archibald and Catherine Hall. She emigrated to Canada and to the United States in her twenties and worked as a secretary and administrative assistant in engineering, medical and legal practices. Her dream of becoming a U.S. citizen was realized March 21, 2001.
Mrs. Gilmore was married to Ben Gilmore and became step-mother to four children. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, American Legion Post 376 Auxiliary and was an animal lover who supported the Humane Society.
Mrs. Gilmore is survived by her four step-daughters, Helen Mingram, Mary Gamino, Barbara Smith and Janet Bowman; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Peter Hall; and her husband, Ben.
The Neptune Society will honor Mrs. Gilmore’s request to be cremated. There will be no services at this time. The family will host a celebration of life at a date yet to be determined. Donations in Mrs. Gilmore’s memory may be made to the Hospice of Amador and Calaveras
