Married in 1801 to Maurice De Jongh, then merchant in Manchester. Died 1827 in Warrington. Her oldest sons Edward and John.
According to her baptism her father was John. There are a few Johns that married in Chapel-en-le-Frith (of course many more elsewhere). And lots of children born around that time with a father John. Including an Edward in 1777 (a brother?).
John Bennett, a surgeon, who married Mary Baddiley/Badiley/Badley seems to be a good possibility. I found quite a bit about Mary, and a tree that lists their children, amongst them John, Maria and Edward.
A later John, who may have been a son, was also a surgeon, two of his sons, John and Edward, were surgeons too.
Is there anything in the baptismal records of that time that could link them to this father (or another one)?
Are there transcripts online besides those on familysearch?
Or does anyone know other sources?
