Surnames: Manuel Homer Dunnett
Thanks again, Lynne. Most of this I had from the IGI, but the surname HOMER was very useful, as most sources I've seen (ioncl IGI) have transcribed it as THORNER.
But HOMER is certainly correct, as evidenced by the fact that Richard and Catherine's son was named John HOMER Manuel. The name was also given to JHM's sister Jane's granddaughter Beatrice HOMER Dunnett (my great aunt). I should have twigged to this earlier!
As for wills, I don't really expect to find any as they seem to have been simple farm people. Can you tell me where you found your last reference: "Manuel, Richard 21 Dec 1763 Robert Manuel"?
