I descend from William Cole and his wife, Francis Cole of Virginia. Francis is a designated "Ancient Planter." For proof see ADVENTURERS OF PURSE AND PERSONS, third edition. The maiden name of Francis is not established as far as I have been able to determine, but it is probable that she and William were married after their separate arrivals in Virginia. Their primary residence was in Warwick County. I descend through their son William and wife Martha Lear, through their son William and his wife Mary Wilson, through their son James and his wife Mary Wills, through their son William and his wife Sarah "Sally" Clairborne Woodson, through their daughter Catherine (Caty) who married William Edmonds in Wilkes County, GA. I have seen an abstract of Humfrye Cole's will and I am very appreciative of Mr. Scott Simpson's posting of the will in its entirety.
