Has anyone have any information on the Wright Family originating from Bringhurst.

Have some, but need to verify what I have at present.

Hi Cindy, I have James Wright and his wife Ann with children Mary G, William J, Arthur and Anne from the 1881 census. I have not yet linked them into my family, but am sure if I found out James' parents would be able to link him in. Our Wrights lived in Bringhurst for a good few generations so must be linked somehow. I didn't know Ann's surname, so that's given me more information, thank you. do you James' parents?

Christine, I am glad I could be of some help with Ann's name. I have not looked for James's parents. I am more interested in Ann Garley Wright and her descendants. If you come upon any information on Mary, William, Arthur, or Anne Wright and their families, please let me know. I will let you know if I run into any information on James's Family. These names look familiar Rob, will did about and drag out what I have on them for you. I know I haven't linked them in my tree directly yet, though I have them as someone had incorrectly merged them with one of my families, though they have to be connected somewhere.

Annie's maiden name was Preston.
The family came to Michigan, USA, had a daughter, Lucy Kaziah Wright and moved to Bassano, Alberta, Canada.She was my Great Gran.died 1955 or 6. b: 1892
Married a Sydney Edwards also from England.
Charles died in Northern Alberta, early 1900's in a town called Leduc, Alberta.

Sorry about the delay Rob, but here is a start, you probably have most of this anyway.

Annie and Charles had a son also named Charles William born 1879. Annie's husband Charles was born in Bringhurst in 1856. Anne was born 5 February 1854 in Bringhurst, Rutland, baptised 11 february probably in St Nicholas Church. Annie's mother was Lucy Sharman also from Bringhurst, but I don't know much about them, but am told they lived in the big house next to the church for 200 years. Annie's brother is Amos Preston. She also had other brothers, John and James, both moved to Iosco County, Michigan. I have a contact for James Great grandson's wife if that is any help. All information will obviously have to be rechecked as this I have got from other sources but never verified as so far he is not in my tree.

Lucy Sharman married William Preston. Many of their children came to Tawas City, Michigan. Annie was one of them who married Charles Wright.

I have pictures of Lucy and most of her children.

I have information on Mary Ann Wright born1852, married 1st.Dec 1874 to Humphrey Walton 1853-1900. No information on date of decease.

Both Appear in 1881 and 1891 census living in Brightside, Sheffield, Humphrey worked as a foreman on the railways and in 1891 had two nephews staying with them, and also working on the railways one of which is Thomas Wright born in Bringhurst in 1871.

Mary is clearly identified as being from Bringhurst, but I haven't been able to connect her with a specific household. Iwould appreciate any information.
