I'm trying to trace the Tucker family who lived somewhere in the East End from the mid 1800's onwards until around 1950 - by then Chingford and Walthamstow. The names of the Tucker folk I have in my line are my grandfather John Ferry Tucker ( the Ferries are an old French Huguenot family who settled in London after 1744), his father Joseph Tucker (born 1847) who married Elizabeth Ferry. They had a seed merchant's shop in High St Walthamstow. The Ferries lived in and around Bethnal Green. Joseph's father was Robert Andrew Tucker a coal merchant in Hoxton. He married Mary Brown.
Joseph had siblings called James, Marianne and Sarah and another son who had a son called Charles (also a coal merchant) who possibly married someone called Henrietta. Marianne married someone called Beard and had two sons one of whom was Herbert.
If anyone connects with any of these families I'd love to hear from you.
