I have someone who married in 1784 as Frances, in her husbands will (he died Oct 1799) she is Fanny, also known as Frances, and in 1845 she dies as Frances. Her mothers name was Ann.

In the London Land Tax Recordes, in the Coleman St Ward (they lived in Lothbury) I find first Joseph, and after Josephs death I find an Ann there.

I find it so odd, a Frances being known as Ann ... Am I mistaken, could Ann be common short name voor Frances?

Her married surname was Schabracq, also written as Shabracq and transcribed in all sort om manners. Not a common name at all, Dutch-Jewish, only a few lived in England at the time.
