Thank you Kathy I shall include you in my (slowly) growing list of birth children - 11 now over the years the message was posted about 2006.
How lucky that you have supplied the address for 1945 - it is only just over a mile from where I was born and still live in Walthamstow.
I actually pass Frankland Road often on my way shopping at Chingford Mount - you may be interested in having a photo sent by email of the former home for your family history records?
Do let me know - you can send me a direct email to kefo.44@btopenworld.com. That way we wont be giving the message boards too much personal information and I can send you the picture as an attachment.

Although Frankland Road didn't get any bad bombing itself, I do know from local history research that only a few hundred yards away in York Road there was a V2 Rocket which caused quite a few casualties. It is likely that because you were born in June and the war had only ended 4 weeks earlier, your mother would not really have come to expect that to happen, so her confinement took place at the Suntrap Centre in Epping Forest some 3 miles further north.
