Today I uncovered in the 1850 census Harriet Quantrell and her new husband, William Claxton, in Lorain County, Ohio, indexed Clarkson. Living with them is Rebecca "Clarkson," age 20 and blind. In 1880 she was Rebecca Quantrell, age 50 and blind. In the same family is Nelson "Bester"--he signed his own name Bestor--son of Almanza and Mary Ann Quantrell Bestor. It isn't safe to assume anything, but Nelson is almost certainly Harriet Quantrell Claxton's grandson.
