Can anyone help with the birth of Elizabeth to mother Mary Johnson possibly in the Pulham Market/Pulham St Mary area (or nearby) in 1884/5.
Mary was a widow, (since 1882) and Elizabeth seems to have been born out of wedlock because Mary did not remarry - So the baby may have been registered under a different surname, but she certainly used Johnson as her surname later in life.
Mary can be found at the Depwade Union Workhouse on the 1891 census, with her 3 sons, but her 2 daughters - Julia age 13 and Elizabeth age 6 or 7 are nowhere to be found. (Of course, Julia may have already been in service somewhere, but she does not show up in 1891)
Any ideas anyone?
