Hello. Been a few years since I stopped Ancestry searches. However, I'd appreciate data regarding Philip Morgan Neighbour if feasible. My research indicates the following regarding common Ancestry:
James Neighbour abt. 1742 - m. 1770 Elizabeth Boddington -d. 1819 ...my 4th G Grandfather.
One of his sons 'John Neighbour" bap. 1779 Lewknor - m. 1806 Martha Holiday Waterperry -d. 1868 had 5 children, of which one was John Edward Neighbour b. 1811 -m. 1841 Eliza Hughes d. 1878.
John and Eliza had 4 children, one of whom was Theophilus Neighbor b. 1847 -m. Ellen Banks Morgan 1874 - d. ?
Theophilus and Eliza had 3 children; Maud 1876, Gerald Morgan 1877 and Philip Morgan 1894
Do not know if Maud married.
Gerald M. Neighbour married Catherine Mabel Hibberd 1875 ... do not know descendants
Philip M. Neighbour may have married, may have descendants ??? and the reason for my posting in 2006.
My 3rd G Grandfather was Robert Neighbour, next to last son of James and Elizabeth Neighbour m. 1770 Kidlington. Robert and 23 others of immediate family immigrated to USA in 1854. My 2nd G Grandfather; Edward G. Neighbour b. 1814 Chinnor to Robert and his 2nd wife; Mary Webster b. 1794 - m. 1894 Chinnor, changed the surname spelling in America to "Neighbor" 1854 - 1885. Edward and his wife Hannah had 9 children (8 surviving). Of the 8, 4 born in England, 5 in America. After 1885, the eldest child Robert Edward Neighbour b.1842 (Neighbor 1854-1923) used the surname "Neighbor". Two younger brothers (William Webster b. 1847 and Horatio Ebenezer b. 1860) reverted back to "Neighbour"....so in the USA both surnames are in use, there being some 1,800 descendants tracing back to James and Elizabeth Neighbour.
Appreciate any help you can provide regarding family and descendants of Theophilus and Ellen Neighbour 1874 to the present.
Arthur B. Neighbor
