Do you have any information on an Eleanor Jane Hayward born July 25,1882? That is all the info I have on her other than her marrying an Edwin Carter in 1902 and they came to Canada shortly after.

You might beable to connect......it.... The information is on my grandmother Carrie Baker who was born in April of 1904+... She had three brothers Thomas, Morris, and Ernest. There was also one sister Rose.... This all the information I have... Carrie was the only one who left England and came to the U.S. The rest of the Baker's I understand still live in England... Their's a chance some may still live in Croydon...

My ancestors, William & Susannah Ashby and his son & his wife , Adam & Eleanor Sarah lived in Croydon, Surrey from about 1840. They had the windmill on Windmill Street.
On doing a free BMD search at (join them together) :

http://
freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

some of the Croydon deaths for my Ashby ancestors were:
1855 Susannah, 2a p.119 (nee Latter)
1866 William, 2a p.109
1876 Aaron David, 63yrs, 2a p.158
1889 Adam 84yrs, 2a p.128
1894 Eleanor Sarah 82yrs 2a p.140 (nee Richardson)

I believe Eleanor Sarah Ashby (nee Richardson) died at the address of her daughter, Laura.
Would anyone have seen Laura on the 1891 census ?
Thankyou.

I am interested in finding an obituary for Walter Thomas E. Dobson.
He was born at Lewisham, Kent during the September 1902 term.
During World War II he was a resident of Croydon, Surrey. His parents' names were Willey Chanter Dobson and Alice Caroline Adams Dobson.

I would be so grateful if you would be able to find any information concerning Walter.

Thank you, Carol

I knew I had a better address for my Walter Dobson.

He was living at Tower View, Shirley, Croydon, Surrey, Greater London in 1940.

I thought more specific information could help you locate him.

Hi, I am a descendant of a James Hayward, b. Croydon 1843, came to New Zealand in 1874. Does my James connect with any of your Haywards. All I know to this point is that he married margaret Agnes Barry, had three children before sailing to NZ.

Do you know James' parents names? My James Hayward was born c 1845 in Croydon and I have lost him after 1861. I thought he died in 1867 so I will be delighted to learn if we are 'related'!

How do you know that your James was born in Croydon?

I have checked the 1871 census and James and Margaret and their three boys are listed. James is recorded as being born in Crixsey, Essex.

James and Margaret married at St Paul's Deptford on 29 Aug 1867. She was born c 1850. If there is a direct link then I can fill you in on all his siblings. Please email me directly for info.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Catherine
