Edward Dalton birth or baptism please

Surnames: DALTON, BANKS
My ancestor Edward Dalton died in 1838 age 32 yrs at Merton Surrey. I have his burial date and his death cert. Mostly the family were from Merton but there is a link to the City of London.
Edward married Sarah Banks at Putney in 1826, they were both school teachers. I haved traced Sarah's parents, but no info on Edwards. So trying to find his parents on birth or marriage records.
