Alan, thank you very much for sharing that bit of information with me. I'll bet this 1697 Giles Perman is part of our line. My 5th great-grandfather, Giles Parman (1758-1832), lived in PA during his service with the Northampton County militia in the American Revolution. He is believed to have been the son of another Giles Parman/Perman/Parmin, perhaps the grandson of this one you found to be christened April 5, 1697. Was he christened in the Episcopalian Church, or Church of England? My Giles had these children:
The following are the children of Giles and Elizabeth Penn Parman:

1. Emmanuel Parman; b. 12-12-1776, d. 2-16-1856; md. Elizabeth Yarrick on 2-11-1799 in Greene County, TN
2. Mary Catherine Parman; b. ca. 1779, d. bef. 1832; md. William Mackey
3. Rachel Parman; b. ca. 1780,d. 10-1839; md. John Henderson on 12-4-1800 in Greene County, TN
4. Elizabeth Parman; b. 8-17-1784, d. ca. 1862; md. David Girdner on 9-19-1805 in Greene County, TN
5. Giles Franklyn Parman, Jr.; b. 2-25-1786, d. 11-4-1877; md. Mary M. Woolsey on 11-24-1809 in Greene County, TN
6. Susannah Parman; b. 3-15-1790, d. 9-21-1859; md. Daniel Dunn(b. 12-26-1787, d. 10-10-1844) on 6-14-1809 in Greene County, TN
7. Joseph Parman; b. ca. 1792, d. ca. 1857; md. 1ST on 6-3-1813 to Nancy Vantriss, divorced and married 2nd to Margaret McGowen on 5-27-1816 in Greene County, TN
8. Jacob Parman; b. ca. 1795, d. aft. 1830; md. 1st to Desey Marr , md. 2nd to Polly Casner
9. *Frethias Parman; b. ca. 1797, d. betw. 1842-1848; md. 1st to “FNU” Black, md. 2nd Elizabeth Curtis

Child of Giles and Phoebe Woolsey Parman :
10. Massey Parman; ca. 1800/ aft. 1834, md. 1st to “unknown” Black, md. 2nd to John W. Freeman on 7-13-1834 in Knox County, KY

It may be coincidence, but I find it interesting that my Giles has a second oldest daugther by the name of Rachel, when the Giles Perman you mentioned married Rachel Hall July 15, 1723 in Stourton Wiltshire. Thanks again for sharing. God bless and keep you, Dave.
