Hello Carol, If of help great: 1. LOW(RES)BDE RAF = (?)
LOWLAND(RESERVE usually Volunteers and/or Territorial Units often call 'YEOMANRY' and as such were normally Infantry by definition?)BRIGADE. 2. A Lowland Brigade Unit common to Ediburgh one might say is the Scottish-Borderers(KING'S OWN SCOTTISH BORDERERS) who hold the Freedom of the
CITY. 3. RAF? could be a military
crypt for: Retired-after-France presuming his Service went on here? Or, RAF who were retitled from Royal Flying Corps
1n 1918 being military in origin and again assuming he went on? With this, his location of Mt Vernon might be in Billetting, it being close to TURNHOUSE Edinburgh RFC? Bit tenouus but a thought perhaps? 4. Check with KOSB Regt. Museum, they might steer you on LOW...BDE? (Go Net!).
Good Luck! Mike NB: Broomhouse also district of Edinr.
