Hello,

When researching my family tree I have have obtained information that my ggg grandfather William Jowett b 1819 was the subject of a removal order from Sawley to Chilwell in Notts following the death of his father.

It is my understanding that a removal order was only issued when the orphaned child was not from that parish.

However William, his mother and father were all born in Sawley.

Does anyone have any idea why a removal order would be issued in this case?
