FEBRUARY 2012 RELEASE OF FILES BY THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES

The National Archives has today released 86 more historical files from the Security Service, including records on Charlie Chaplin, the Dutch Second World War double agent Folkert Van Koutrik and a plot by the Nazis to undermine the British pound by producing forged banknotes. The release brings the number of MI5 files at The National Archives to 4,926. Many of the newly released files can be viewed online, and a podcast by Professor Christopher Andrew, introducing the files, is also available.
