Surnames: McAninch, MacAninch, MacAonghas, MacAonghais
Looking for McAninch, MacAninch and variations for families who left prior to 1770-1775 time frame.

Daniel McAninch b. bef 1750, md to Dorcas (?) maiden name unknown - were they md in N. Ireland or afterwards in Pennsylvania?

Both thought to have been born prior to 1755 and settled in Pennsylvania, USA possibly in Erie, PA but not confirmed.

Were Scots - Irish, and name is said to have come from a 4th or 5th century Irish chieftain by the name of Angus.

Have seen MacAonghas and MacAonghais and other variations. Would like to hear more about the origin of the name as well as the family who might have stayed in N. Ireland.
