Surnames: Steel
Gordon my name is Gordon Steel as well any relation to the building you referenced as the hair Solon known as "Steel's corner"? Was a mercantile, a Drappery buisness, Millinary shop, also had the post office toward the center of the building next to gated entrance and a bank was at the Far end next to the Bridge. Also had an apartment below the bank building. It was built by Mathew Steel (not the postmaster but his uncle and the Love brothers who also built Dundraven were also uncles? The building Architect design was done by Charles Lanyon. The original property was ownened by William Began and purchased by Samuel S Steel about 1800 his brother James was married into the Began Family. See early photo attached
