Armaugh Presbyterians

At my local LDS I ran across a microfilm labeled "Armaugh Presbyterians"

Under the heading "Aghalow & Carnteel 1776 (6)" I found

George Davison

I strongly suspect he may be mine, but have no idea how to use this information and find out. Are Aghalow and Carnteel towns? Parishes? name sthat may help me to obtain a census record?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rachel

Rachel,
I looked up CARNTEEL as a townland in IreAtlas
http://www.seanruad.com/
There were 2 matches: Co. Tyrone, Barony of Dungannon Lower, Civil Parish: Carnteel. Poor Laws Union - Dungannon. Province of Ulster

Diane-

I just wrote this message but then I accidently hit something on my keyboard and I don't know if I posted or erased it, so here's a summary in case it didn't send.

I am only starting to research ancestors from Ireland, and am unfamiliar with the geographical terms and how they relate to one another- ie is a Barony part of a county or a township, and is it even a term used today?

What is Co. Tyrone? I didn't find it as a county in my own atlas- am I misinterpreting the abbreviation?

Thank you for taking the time to look up Carnteel, and I'm sorry to be such a pest.

If so, plese e-mail me at cantorjoeocho@hotmail.com.

Believe it or not, I haven't been back to my local LDC FHS since I posted the original letter, But I'll make a note of your Kidds for the next time I do go.
