I was quickly reviewing any of the posts for County Armagh when I took notice of your last name Tim. One of my GGGrandmothers was a Mary McCarten of the Keady area of County Armagh. She married James Emmett Donnelly around 1850 and had three or four children, James 1850, Mary Elizabeth 1853 and Lenore 1856, there appears to be a John found later. James came to America first in 1860 and served in the Union Army was battlefield promoted to Major. Mary and the kids followed a few years after the war and the family utimately settling in Bridgeport, CT where James became the General Manager of a button factory. I think there were other McCarten families, some settled in Camden, NJ others in Connecticut. I know I'm probably a generation ahead, but are you aware of cousins down state?
