My Father and Uncles still own and farm the Clady estate, also know as Ballylane.
I have pictures of some of the headstones and am interested in sharing and expanding on my own family tree if anyone can assist.
My Father is David Taylor, brother to shannon, robert, jim, joseph and desmond who are sons of robert taylor (born march 1911/died 29th December 1989) and his wife agnes.
The family church is at the Cladymore Presbetarian Church where the most recent deceased generations reside.
Robert was brother to samuel taylor, eliza martin, charlotte greenwood, mary e parker, margaret stevenson, sarah j taylor and george david (most of the girls married into yorkshire families (were nurses) and Charlotte listed her father as a deceased soldier on her marriage certificate in England.
They were children to Robert Taylor Born 14th July 1873 (same day as my Father David Taylor 14/7), married in 1901 just after the Irish Cencus to which he was previously listed as living with his sister Margaret and he later died 23rd April 1946- was married to Rachel Gass)
He also had siblings called ellen, anne e, thomas and margaret who married joseph stevenson (would have been cousins as lines often inter married between stevensons, Taylors, Gass and Dillon). The 1911 records show Ellen and Margaret living together with Ellen unmarried (it has been noted in records that she may have been jilted by her Gass husband who set up home with another cousin and she never remarried)
Their father was Robert john taylor (born about 1842, married Mary Dillon about 1861 Newry - where most couples eloped and he later died september 1908.)
I have a great interest in how Thomas Taylor (born 20th November 1840 in Tullyallen and died about 1845) who lived to 106 is related to Robert Taylor the senior (may be cousins) as have individual pictures of both of them taken at the same time and my uncle still has Thomas's tractor, fully running from 1910! I know some users have pictures of Thomas and I would love to share. Thomas's son Hugh also migrated to Australia.
Isabella Farrelly (nee Taylor- Born 1856 Ballinamore) also falls into the linage. She was very well travelled and based on pictures of her, appeared to be very wealthy, her children with her husband Alexander Moses Farrelly were born in various countries.
I would also like information on Anna Sarah Mabel Taylor (who's son migrated to Thaiwan- now have children in Washington and Wollongong) and info on their Great Grandfather Thomas Henry and his Father George.
In the cencus's from 1901 and 1911- Taylors are noted as residing at 10, 14, 18, 19, 23,43 and 83 Ballylane (Cladymore)
I would appreciate any futher assistance with comparing or rectifying notes.
Many thanks,
Tara -
