Classification: Query
Surnames: Morris, Quealy, Tighe
My gg grandmother, Margaret Morris, was born in Kilshanny c 1839 & migrated to Sydney in 1859 with her husband, Patrick Quealy, (born Ennistimon), her mother Ellen (nee Tighe born Ennistimon) & brother Michael (born Kilshanny). Her sisters, Sabina, Bridget & Mary & brother Patrick (all born Kilshanny) had migrated to Sydney from 1849 to 1857. Morris is probably not a north Clare name and I don't know if her father, Patrick was born in Kilshanny but he is listed on Griffiths Valuations as living in Carrowmanagh South, Kilshanny and renting from Mary Glynne. The girls quoted a Henry Thynne from Kilshanny as a referee when they paid the remittance for their mother's migration. Quealy is a common north Clare name and there are a few listed in Ennistimon & Liscannor in Griffiths.
