Hi Bob,
Thank you for the information. There could very well be a connection, but it is not evident, yet.

How old is your Patrick Mc in the 1900 census?

My Joseph Patrick Mc came to the U.S. at age 8. He was born in Apr.1856, Clare.

He had thirteen siblings. I can't find my list of his siblings names Grrrrr (Love researching-hate filing) Have not heard of any that went to Louisiana. Jos. Patrick Mc married Annie Wheeler who was born in New York in 1866.
Annie's parent's were also from, Ireland. Don't know where.

I believe all of above came to California. Jos. Patrick Mc became a plumber/pipefitter in the San Francisco Bay area.

In 1900 Census my in-law ancestors were in Berkeley, Calif. with 9 children. All born in calif. He had been married 17 yrs.
They possibly lost one child prior to the census.
Living children in 1900 were: Mary 16; Florence 13; Annie 10;
Ella 9; Francis "Frank" Joseph 8; Margaret 6; Charles "Charlie" Klune* 4; Emma 2; Katherine/kathleen 1.
Needless to say, they were Roman Catholic.

*Charles Klune was my late husbands father. When I obtained his death cert. his father is listed as Joseph Michael McNamara EEEEEk! back to the drawing board.
Thanks again. Good Luck. Helen
