A slim pamphlet issued in 1976 provides a brief history of St Mary church and cemetery, Barrie. The land on Sunnidale Rd, Vespra Twp, was purchased in 1867 and cemetery opened soon. The Haskett family arrived on the farm in Vespra Twp a decade later. Plots were offered to raise funds for church. A large eight-grave plot was reserved by the Haskett family. The plot identified by four corner posts with surname engraved on top of posts. A book was published 1987 with tombstone transcriptions. Apparently corner posts inscriptions did not reveal enough info to be included in the publication. In my view that was a grave omission for genealogical researchers. Thirty years have passed since I was in Barrie as pall-bearer for last son of Margaret Haskett. Wm D.
