I just discovered that my great grandfather was from Ballinrobe. His name was Peter Sheridan. He came to the United States in 1892.

Family lore has it that after immigrating to the US, he briefly resided in Pennsylvania before moving on to Texas and, ultimately, Chicago.

Peter's father was Michael Sheridan, married to Ellen Partland. He had a brother named James, though born in 1870. Would be interested to learning more about what you have learn. Thanks!
