I also have a Hannah O'Mahony from Castleisland in my family. She was the sister of my grandfather James Edmond O'Mahony (1881-1966) who married Nora O'Connor (1885-1973 from Knockeen). Of his siblings, James' sister Hannah became a Religious Sister (Loreta Sisters) in Manchester UK, his sister Kate (poss Catherine/Kathleen) married a man from Spain in Cuba and had two children, Nora went to USA, Margaret (no information) Lucy (no information) Anne (married M. T McGough, Killarney, Anne (married P Quinlan USA) Other siblings were Ellen (died Kent UK) and Mary (USA). Grandfather's father Edmond married Mary Hogan in Castleisland RC church 1874. He had come from Cork with his two brothers Brian and Martin, and they all settled on separate farms in West Camp, Castleisland. My father was Ned (Edmond) of West Camp born 1915 (died 1983) who grew up and went to school in Castleisland, and later emigrated to New Zealand in 1938 where he married Katie Kavanagh and had nine children, one of whom is myself.I have been back to Castleisland several times and met my immediate relatives but am now interested in the wider family history. I would be pleased to hear from anyone with connections to any of these.
