I am looking for information on John Hooley, son of James and Hannah Mahoney
Hooley. His obituary states that he was born in Cork in 1829 and that he arrived in this
country at the age of 15. That would be 1844 or 1845. However, a later census record
gives his date of arrival as 1849. John “Wholy” was employed as a farm laborer for a
family named Feeter in in Manheim Center, near Little Falls, NY in1860.

John Hooley settled in Little Falls, NY where he married Mary Hayes of Cregg,
Kilfaughnabeg, Cork. Mary's brothers were living with a widow, Johanna Mahony (68)
and her son John (28) in Little Falls in 1865. Her husband may have been Daniel Mahony.
John Hooley and Mary Hayes were married in the late 1860s. Hannah "Holey" (90),
John's mother, was living with the family in 1880. I have not been able to locate any other
Hooleys. I would appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks.
