Hi there don't know if there is any connection I have a Richard Mahoney in my tree born approx 1851 in County Cork Ireland. He was my gg grandfather. He left Cork and went to work in Tredegar Wales before moving to Middlesbrough. I would be interested in anything anyone knows about him his oldest son was called Michael so I am presuming this must of been his fathers name as I have heard irish catholics used the same names which confuses things even more. I can follow my Richard from 1881 in Wales but not found anything before that.

Any help would be appreciated.
