I joined the editorial staff of the Cork Examiner in1960. Par
Trick dorgan was editor then and continued to be so until the mid 1970s when he was poomoted to managing editor. He retired 2 or 3 years later and died in the Bon Secours Hospital Cork about 1980 from brain cancer.
I remembber him visiting Leeds on a few occasions.
He was a small, bald man with thick glasses. His hobbies werre golf and fishing and he supported the local football team, Cork Hibernians.
He is mentioned in a book by his successor, Tim Cramer called The Light of Other Days. It should be available from Amazon.
I possess a letter that he wrote to me fom his home at Crab Lane,Blackrock Road, Cork shortly after he retired. He previously lived in the Riverstown/Glanmire area.
