Classification: Query
Surnames: Scanlan, Fox, Deasy, Lordan/Lorden, Montgomery, King
Researching family of John Scanlan, born @1790 in or near Furrow, County Cork. He married Mary Montgomery in 1810. He died in 1840. Buried in Kilbehenny Cemetery in County Cork. Children: Susan (m. John Fox, died about 1.5 yrs after marriage prob in 1830s or 1840s); John, Tom, Margaret (m. Lordan/Lorden); Ellen (m. ? King); Bridget (m. John Deasy/Dacey); Edmond, Michael. In early 1840s, Margaret Lordan/Lorden immigrated to Montreal with her uncle, John Montgomery family who worked on building the Lachine Canal. In 1849, John Scanlan immigrated to America. In 1853, Tom, Michael, their mother Mary, Bridget Deasy and Ellen Scanlan King's children immigrated to Quebec and later settled in Mendota, Dakota County, MN then eventually St. Paul. Ellen Scanlan King and her husband had already immigrated to America and were settled in Columbia, South Carolina prior to 1853. Not sure what happened to all of them espec Ellen King, Bridget Deasy and Margaret Lorden/Lordan. Anyone with connections to this family? Thanks!
