My great-grandmother was Mary O'Connor who married Timothy(Thadie) Carroll and lived in Boherbue, Co Cork. I don't know where Mary came from, but her brothers lived close to her so she was probably a local girl. The only relative I can find online is the boxer Paddy Jack Jim O'Connor, 'The Clouting Celt from County Cork'. I came across his father (John) and grandfather (James) on the 1911 Census in Boherbue before PJJ was born. An old letter mentioned that Mary's brother Jim lived near her so I am presuming that they were the Jack and Jim in Paddy's triple name. He was born on St Patrick's Day, so that explains the first one. On the PJJ website are two photos of the man and he looked so much like my father and his brothers and even some of the next generation, there has to be a connection.Note that Boherbhue is in the Diocese of Kerry not Cork, so Masry O'Connor may stil;l have come from County Cork rather than Kerry. This may not help much but it's been fun writing the story. Mary
