My grandfather, Thomas Duffy, married Catherine OBrien on May 15, 1870 either in County Cork or in the US, possibly in the Troy/Albany, NY area.
Catherines father was James OBrien. His wife was named either Mary or Anna or a combination of the two.
James OBrien and his wife were probably born in County Cork
around 1810 to 1825 or so. Their children who made it to America, all of whom were probably born in County Cork, were:
Catherine, b. 6May1846, married Thomas Duffy on May 15, 1870.
Anastasia, b. 23Apr1851, married John J. McKeough in Troy, NY on 17Aug1873.
John, b. Jan1852, married Margaret ??? in Troy, NY in 1875.
Mary, b. ???, married a Patterson, probably in Troy, NY.
Ellen, b. ???, married a Whelan, probably in Troy, NY.
Anna, b. about 1861, married John Mason in Troy, NY on
6Aug1882.
Josephine, b. Apr1866, married James McGuire in Troy, NY about1890.
Family names that are related to these OBriens are:
Duffy, McKeough, Keough, Patterson, Whelan, Mason, Houlihan,
McGuire, Mangan, Manning, Shea, Leahy, ONeil and Spain.
Any help would be appreciated.
