My grandfather was Jeremiah, born Feb 2 in 1850 in Merthyr Tydfill Wales and brought to the States in 1852 at age 2 years.,settling in Shenandoah, PA. He was at one time a Justice of the Peace in Sh. and was involved inthe time of the Mollie Maguires. He was married twice, once to a Conner and once to a Sheilds, I think. I know nothing prior to 1850/52. Any links. I have been to Ireland and noted the abundance of Toomeys in the Cork/Macroom area.
