Copeland's on Asterville Gardens?
Hello,
My name is Dave Copeland. I live in Miami Beach. My dad was also named David Copeland and so is my son. Recently, I found an old picture of where my father lived as a child. I uploaded the picture and wonder if anyone could tell me where Asterville Gardens is on a map? Or if the name is correct-- a street lamp in the picture is hiding the first letter or two. I suspect my dad's family has passed on (he would have been a 100 years old this year). As an aside, he's the baby sculpted by Rosamund Praeger who was the Copeland family's neighbor. The statue of the nude baby sitting on a stool is called "The Philosopher." Last thing I heard, it now resides in the Colorado Museum of Art.
I've always been curious about where my father was born and grew up and always hoped to travel there. The way things are going, that may never happen but I do have two college-aged kids who may just make it. My son David is studying in London right now and may travel to Belfast shortly. We both agree that it would be great to visit the place where it all started. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Dave Copeland
