Hi, I am currently researching the descendants of John Joseph Birney (Grandfather) and Elizabeth O’Mara (Grandmother). My Grandfather, John was born in Dublin in 1879 and died in Clydebank, Scotland in 1937, aged 58.
Elizabeth O’Mara was also born in Dublin around 1895, and died in Clydebank, Scotland in 1970, aged 85.
John and Elizabeth were married in the Roman Catholic Parish Church at Dalkey, South of Dublin on 30 May, 1906 and then moved to Scotland.
I have information that John’s Father was Francis Birney, who was employed as a Revenue Officer in Dublin. His wife was Mary Granton. I am finding it difficult to gather information on the particulars of my descendants, and all the information stated above has been derived from John Joseph Birney’s Death Certificate, of which I have a copy.
I would be grateful for any assistance in sourcing or searching for my descendants.
